Your heart was a sort
Of a forbidden kind
It captured, enchanted, and exceeded mine

Your show performed in a theater
With a forgotten cast
They say that our love’s to uncertain to last

But still I love you

Your life lies helpless
In their hands as their jokes
Persistent and relentlessly make you a hoax

But still I love you.

Your face dances gracefully
With a pain of its own
You’ve taken all the chances
And still you are alone.

No one dared to love
The woman who loved too freely
She asked for nothing but their honesty
Her anguish she rose above exceedingly.

And still I love you.

You now inhabit and thus are the keeper
Of my badly abused heart
Tell me we can last forever,
And refrain from tearing it apart.

I’m sure I could easily love you
If my pride would only let me
You are my best friend and now my lover
Please lover never forget me.

I will always love you.

So take me my sweet angel
To the place where you go to cry
Trust in me to love you
Forever there until I die.

Keep me safely protected
Within your loving arms
Never ask me to leave you
Neither you, nor I could face the harm.

I know I will always love you.
